Sin 2.0 - Rank Achievment System!

Icon of Sin: Final Boss of Doom II

I am very pleased to announce that I have developed a new ranking system for the guild that has been on my mind for awhile. With the help of a couple officers, members will now be recognized within the guild through their rank for their achievements in ToR. All members will know right away just how accomplished a player is.

Players will earn badges through their PvP, PvE, and RP activity and accomplishments. These achievements will then earn badges, and rank will go up with the number of badges obtained. Which badges have been earned will be visible in the member note, such as «\/» would indicate the Vainglory badge has been obtained.

The badges that may be earned are as follows:

«\/» - Vainglory Badge - Pride -
This will be a specific personal goal or quest assigned to you by Zode.

«
Å» - Asmodeus Badge - Lust  - Obtain the 4 piece PvE set bonus.

«
§» - Iblis Badge -  Wrath - Rise to Valor rank 60: Battlemaster

«
Ł» - Leviathan Badge - Envy - Defeat Soa in the Vault of Eternity.

«
Z» - Beelzebub Badge - Gluttony - Get all three crew skills to 400.

«
M» - Mammon Badge - Greed - Donate 250k to the guild bank for tax purposes.

«
ß» - Belphegor Badge - Sloth - Follow the blog sin-guild.blogspot.com - and comment on a post with your in-game name to achieve this badge.

However, not everyone is called to such a Dark path and their are those who find honor in a different calling: to be a member of the Empire who walks the path of light. If they choose to forsake the above badges, they may instead pursue the following heavenly virtue medals:

[H] Humility Medal - Humbly complete a personalized quest bestowed upon you by Zode.

[C] Chastity Medal - Get your 4 piece PvE set bonus.

[P] Patience Medal - Reach Valor rank 60: Battlemaster.

[K] Kindness Medal - Get three crew skills to 400.

[T] Temperance Medal - Defeat Soa in the Eternity Vault.

[R] Charity Medal - Donate 350k to the guild bank to be distributed to the less fortunate.

[D] Diligence Medal - Follow the blog sin-guild.blogspot.com - and comment on a post with your in-game name to achieve this badge.

The updated ranks for the guild are as follows:

0 Guildmaster - Icon of Vainglory - Zode

1 Reverand Mother - Blessed Queen of Zode

2 Dark Council - Icon of Gluttony - Zode's Inner Circle

3 Dark Seducer - Officers and Recruiters.

4 « Ìߣͧ » Icon of Wrath - 7 Badges

5 « ŧmºÐ³µ§ » Icon of Lust - 6 Badges

6 « Łë\/!ã†hªñ » Icon of Envy - 5 Badges

7 « (V)åmmøñ » Icon of Greed - 4 Badges

8 « ßé£þhèG¤® » Icon of Sloth - 3 Badges

9 Recruit - Initiate drawn in by a Dark Seducer.

At this point the plan is: twice a week, Tuesday and Saturday, there will be a ceremony at Dromund Kaas or the Imperial Fleet for those who have achieved the Badges required for promotion. This will allow us to put on our finest regalia and socialize with Sin members of all levels.

  1. I'm really liking the sound of this. I work harder when i have goals set for me hopefully this will push other members to go the extra mile as well. Sin does it again. Hail zode

  2. Looks awesome. Gives me a lot more incentive to log in now that I've hit 50.

  4. Well, gives me something to shoot for! I like how the light-side version of the Mammon badge, aptly named Charity, is actually a bit more expensive (though I assume 350K at level 50 will be chump change).

Any current plans for future badges?

    1. 350k isn't quite chump change, I wouldn't blink at 35k but 10 times that is worth something.

  7. This looks great! Very original! I couldn't help but notice the "goody goody" players have to pay an additional 100k to the guildbank. Not sure if that was a typo or your intention :)

  8. Is it just me, or is anyone else confused by the 733T-speak nature of these names? I cannot read them, and was surprised to see all of the high-ascii chars in the names, as tho this was put together by a 10 yr old trying to impress his friends.

Can we use normal letters and words that mean things? I have no objection to the change of ranks, or the work that went into the merit system that goes into them -- it took a lot of work. I am just baffled by the need to make it unreadable for those of us who thought this was a mature, thoughtful guild, not a kids camp.

  9. Cha-ching! I agree with Demi on this one though, those ranks just make me strain my eyes in confusion.

  10. Demi, you really don't need to use the sarcasm and hyperbole with me. You are speaking about maturity, but characterizing me as "a 10 year old trying to impress his friends" and calling the guild a "kids camp".

Your inability to read and lack of knowledge to understand the significance of the names is your failing, not the guilds or the ranks. Words that mean things?

    Words that mean things.

The seven deadly sins have been paired with Mammon, Asmoedeus, Leviathan, Beelzebub, Belphegor, Lucifer, and Amon since 1589. And those characterizations date back to grimoires and apocrypha as early as 100-300 AD.

They all have a extremely rich history in books like the Malleus Maleficarum, Lesser Key of Solmon, Dante's Inferno, The Magnus, and modern fictional works. Each character has a look and personality traits and individuals they supposedly aid in different areas of specialty.

The stylized text that the names are presented in is to add role-playing character and a runic look to the ancient and dreadful names who serve either as the nemesis or patron of those ascending the ranks of Sin.

Hopefully this is able to provide some education and context to understand the long thought process, work, and research that went into creating a deep RP and achievement progression system. Thanks!
